wherefore art thou camera cord?

It was several posts ago that I revealed to the public that my camera cord has gone missing. Shameful to have lost track of such a dear member of the family, I know. It's hard for me to even talk about it. I hesitate to place the blame squarely on the shoulders of CC (that's what her good friends call her), as she has never had a tendency to wander off before. I have interrogated all family members who have been close to her around the time of her disappearance, but all claim ignorance. I suspect foul play. I've allowed myself to consider only briefly, for the pain is too great, that she could have possibly run away...but she lacks the proper extremeties for such an escape. So I must rule it out. The only reasonable conclusion I can come to is kidnapping. As you can imagine, the emotional toll of these circimstances has been great. Countless images have been held captive inside my camera for far too long. My blog has suffered greatly. These are trying times, and I ask for the love and support of you, my family and friends, to lift me up and carry me through this. And to the guilty one-you know who you are-I leave a simple message: Damn you, camera cord kidnapper. Damn you.

fact or fiction

I have always clung to the hope that tiger muskies were mythical creatures concocted by local fishermen to ward off recreational enthusiasts who scare their fish away. Turns out, they're real. My hopes were in vain.

We watched this guy pull one out of the lake at Pineview. Check out the size of this monster. The sharp teeth are also not mythical. Quite real. His camera died, and as a fisherman, he naturally needed proof of his catch, so he came over to our boat and asked if we could take a picture and email it to him. I just can't believe those things actually exist. I'm still going to pretend they're fake if I ever want to get in that water again. Mind over matter.

I was "fired" by a patient for doing her blood pressure too tight. Anyone had their blood pressure taken before? It gets tight. It's kind of a requirement of the blood pressure tool. So when she asked me not to make it so tight, I explained that that's just kind of the way with blood pressure. And we use an automatic machine to take the blood pressure, so I have no control over the tightness. So she "fired" me, and asked for someone else to take care of her for the day. My question for her is this: didn't you just have a baby? Isn't that why you're here? So you can handle childbirth, but not a little squeeze on the arm? Sheesh. Probably didn't help that her arms were significantly larger than my thighs.

speaking of twins

There were twins born at the hospital last night. Two little girls - one was born at 11:23pm and the other was born at 12:05AM, so two different birthdays! How cool is that?

And if you are sick of the month-old blog, trust me- you're not as sick of it as I am. I have many stories to tell, all with wonderful pictures... but I can't find my camera cord to download my pics. It's driving me insane! I keep putting off updating the blog because I know the camera cord will be in the NEXT place I check. But it never is! I'm losing my mind over this. But as soon as I find it, you'll know. I have a backlog of at least 5 mental blogs to share with all of you. So get ready for an overload.
