it was the traffic, I swear

Can you believe I neglected to watch the weather last night? What was I thinking? When I opened the garage door this morning to back outta there, I was dumbfounded at 5 inches of snow waiting for me on the driveway. I was generally delighted, as I am infatuated with the snow (see 2 posts back), however my commute became complicated.

I've watched the odometer before, and I live but a mere 25 miles from the U Hospital. And so, imagine my stupor and amazement that the drive could have possibly taken 2 hours! I left an hour early, and arrived an HOUR late! Praise the heavens they were so understanding. Everyone was so cool about it, and my dear co-workers picked up my slack until I got there so nobody noticed we were a man short for an hour. Hallelujah. Let it snow.

  1. Mike had a similar experience this morning, but after not having even made the 4 mile drive to the freeway in a half hour, he turned around and came home. One of the perks of being a Web Designer.

Glad you have such awesome co-workers!

Oh, and I think we need to go skiing soon so that I can love the snow again! I didn't go at all last year (being prego and all), and only once the year before! Needless to say, I am well overdue.

  2. Wow! A few people here had a hard time making it in to work. A few customers got stuck in the driveways....but that is ok. It is always nice to play in the snow (unless you are in a short skirt I guess).

  3. If I had a nickel for every time I got caught knee-deep in a snowstorm while wearing a miniskirt, I swear...

  4. And it's snowing again today! We got 18 inches on Tuesday (or was it Wednesday? Hibernation sickness). Beautiful isn't it, if you don't have to drive anywhere? Sean has rescued a few people on our street, and spent hours snow blowing the sidewalks to the bus stop so that the kids didn't have to walk in the road. Crazy! I secretly love all the snow, though. I just don't love driving in it.

  5. Hi Natalie- we are friends of Rhett's from Las Vegas. We don't really have that snow problem down here, but then again, you don't really have that 110 degree problem come July. Anyway, tell Rhett we said hi. It looks like you guys are doing great. Keep in touch!

  6. NATALIE!!! Yah, that's right I'm going to "blog stalk" you as well. I was so excited to hear from you. You and Rhett look so good. Granted, I had no idea what Rhett looked like until now... you stinker! I'm really hurt you didn't send a wed. invite to one of your bestest friends ever!! Don't I sound hurt? Maybe I should go with... I'm never speaking with you again... but I guess emails are ok. :) Ahh.. I miss you tons. Emily was saying it was so good to see you at Meg's wedding. Oh well, I'm writing a novel. I'll be in touch.

  7. Erin - inexcusable, I know. I still have your wedding invitation in my desk drawer along with a few dozen others with a sticky note on the stack that says "still need addresses." Tia's is in there too. Mostly those whose phone numbers I had were no longer current. I still only have an Idaho phone number for you... so email me your new number and let's catch up! I'd much rather apologize in person anyway. Love ya.
